Priya Sharma Malik, M.D.

Dr. Priya Sharma MalikI was born and raised in a small town in upstate NY. I attended college at Cornell University where I was a sociology major and pre-med. After college, I went on to Boston University where I obtained my Masters degree in Public Health with a focus on the Maternal and Child Health. At that time, I was certain I was going to go into OB/GYN! After completing my MPH, I pursued medical school and attended New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, right outside of NYC. I stayed on in the area to complete my Pediatric Residency at the associated Children’s Hospital.

Being a glutton for punishment after residency, I decided to continue my educational endeavors and move to Albany, NY to complete a Preventive Medicine Residency at the Albany University School of Public Health. While completing my residency, I began working at the NY State Department of Health in the Bureau of Immunization as a Medical Director. After 3 years within Immunization, I then moved up to become the Medical Director for the Division of Epidemiology, with a continued focus on immunization activities and public policy.

After getting married, I moved to the Springfield, MA area. I was fortunate enough to come across a job posting by Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine when I was pursuing a pediatric position in the neighborhood. I was instantly taken by the care and consideration with which each physician pursued their respective practice of Pediatrics. I am honored to be a part of this amazing group and continue to have a special place in my heart for public health practice.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and young daughter. We try to make the most of every minute by spending time with family and friends.

I look forward to participating in your child’s care. You have come to the right place.
