Julia Komatsu, M.D.

My name is Julia Komatsu, and I am thrilled to have joined the practice here at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine!

While I moved to this area from New York, I’ve spent most of my life in the Midwest. I grew up in Minnesota, went to college in Iowa, attended the University of Minnesota for medical school and my master’s of public health, then moved to New York where I completed my pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx.

My family and I are brand new to Western Massachusetts and are loving it. My husband, Tim, is a graduate student and our daughter, Maya, is loving attending daycare and spending lots of time playing outside.

Professionally, I am interested in a wide variety of topics within the field of pediatrics. Having recently become a parent myself, I have found so much meaning in helping families navigate the both beautiful and tremendously stressful newborn phase. I find similar satisfaction in acute care – I enjoy being able to diagnose a problem and being able to provide my patients and their families with some relief. However, the best part of my job by far is getting to know my patients and their families.

I am so excited to get to know all of you and your children. I am truly grateful to be a part of the wonderful team at Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine.
