Deanna Tocco, M.D., F.A.A.P.

My name is Deanna Tocco and I am so happy to be joining Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine. Growing up I knew I wanted to practice medicine from as early as I can remember, as I love science, healing and learning about the human body. I grew up in Connecticut and attended Boston University for undergraduate, where I majored in Biology. Following graduation, I spent one year working in Boston at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as a research coordinator, before entering medical school at the University of Connecticut. I have always loved being around and caring for children, so focusing on pediatrics was a perfect fit for me, which was clear to me after just my first day on my pediatrics rotation! After medical school, I went down to Philadelphia to complete my residency training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

After completing my pediatric training, I began working with the CHOP Newtown practice for a few years until we moved to Boston for my husband’s fellowship training. Now he is a Cardiac Surgeon at Baystate and we have three amazing children, Lila, Tessa and Lawson and one dog, Nora. We are so happy to be starting our life here in Wilbraham. We try to spend our free time together as a family — playing outside, traveling, visiting family in Connecticut/NY area, and exploring our new area! We are so thrilled to be part of the community of Wilbraham and have already fallen in love with Western Mass!

I am so glad for the opportunity to become a pediatrician in your community and feel very lucky to be working along side such wonderful colleagues.
